I was delighted to hear that my linocut, Hothouse 2 - there's a bird in there! has been selected for the extended longest in the Jackson's Art Prize 2026, no mean feat considering the number of entries this year exceeded 16,000! The extended longlist is 4,200 of these, the top 26%. It is a real honour to be placed among these talented artists and printmakers. Fingers crossed for the next round.
This linocut (available in my shop) is based upon the dense broad range of often exotic foliage to be found in botanical glasshouses, in this case, the Edinburgh Botanic Garden, and the fact that there is always a bird in there somewhere! Printed in 9/10 layers of semi transparent oil based inks, printed on Somerset Satin paper 300gsm in an edition of 50.
