WORKSHOPS

The studio at Healey Mill is a unique and inspiring place in which to work. Its rural, riverside location offers a wealth of subject matter. The studio itself is a bright contemporary space, on two floors, in what used to be a stable and granary.

The printmaking workshop is equipped with a Bewick and Wilson etching and relief press, which is highly geared and therefore effortless to use. It's a great space to work in.With fifteen years experience teaching undergraduates, my own workshops are designed to give you the confidence to go on and develop your own printmaking skills.

Due to the rural location of my studio it is not really viable to plan workshops during the winter months, so these will begin again in the Spring 2024. See new dates below.

Sign up to my mailing list (at the bottom of this page) and be the first to hear about new prints and workshops too. I'll look forward to working with you in the Spring, when the daffodils have arisen!

PAINTERLY PRINTMAKING - MONOPRINT LANDSCAPES

8th June 2024 10am - 4pm

£89.00

This workshop will suit those of you who are interested in learning a more painterly and experimental approach to printmaking. Students will learn techniques for mark-making on a plate (metal or acrylic), using water soluble printing inks and a variety of materials, from textured papers and fabric for example, and tools which may include rollers, brushes and 'drawing' tools etc., and finally how to take a print from their artwork.

The nature of this process, as the name suggests, creates a one-off print, but the possibilities for experimentation are endless.

At the end of the day you will take away a range of your own unique prints.

All of your materials are included, refreshments throughout the day and a light lunch too.

No previous printmaking experience is required.
