Number Four Gallery
I have been invited to exhibit at Number Four Gallery in St Abbs this Christmas and I am really looking forward to working with them, for the first time. This is their annual, mixed exhibition which includes a wide range of artists' work, ideal for Christmas shoppers looking for something different. The exhibition includes printmaking, painting, ceramics, sculpture and more, and opens with a preview weekend 19 & 20 November and runs until the end of January 2012. The gallery is open 10 - 5pm Thursday to Sunday during this time.

Northern Footprints '11 at Northern Print - prize winning print
Every Christmas Northern Print invites studio members to exhibit in their annual Christmas show. The resulting exhibition is a wide mix of all forms of printmaking, all of which conform only to a given paper size. This is a show to visit for some really individual Christmas shopping and there is usually a cup of coffee and a smile on offer here too. My contribution to this melting pot this year is a linoprint "A Walk in the Park" which has received the Sumo Purchase Prize and a lot of attention from visitors too.

It was inspired by some amazing trees in the park at Nunsmoor, Newcastle, trees that were the subject of some sketchbook work earlier in the year. The print itself combines a linocut with some monotype drawing on the inked plates which adds a drawn dimension to the finished print. This print can be seen on the limited edition prints page in the gallery or at Northern Print. The show runs from Saturday 26 November  until Wednesday 21 December, open 10 - 4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
